Would you still use TJ's pizza dough...

... dated 5/31?

I'm guessing it's still *safe* (how bad could flour, salt and water be only 48 hrs later), but may not rise properly when baked?

Would you still feed it to your kids if it otherwise smelled/tasted ok?

  • Is that the sell by date or the use by date?  I'm sure it's okay, either way.

Of course they don't specify...  ugh.

  • As long as it didn't smell funky or have mold growing on it then yes.

  • Yes, I'd still use it. If it has gone bad it'll be obvious- I had some of their dough that got forgotten in the back of my fridge. It was about 7-10 days past date when I found it and it was funky,  clearly bad.  Didn't even have to open it to see that it was all slimy and separated...

  • Funny you should ask this. We have TJs dough dated 5/31 that we're planning to use tonight.

Perfect - thanks for this detail.  Yeah, it looks/smells fine.  I love TJ's, but they do tend to get funky pretty quickly after their dates, so thought I'd see what others thought.  This helps a lot :)
