XP:tried&true strawberry cake recipe?

I'll be making my friends birthday cake and I'll be traveling in the car with it for 3-4 hours so it really can't be a recipe that requires refrigeration. Thanks!

I use the one on the Bisquik box. You could bake the shortbreads and assemble them once you reach your location. Just pick up the strawberries, sugar and whipped cream.
