A friend was having problems with his GF and his FB status changed to single. I know they have been working really hard to try to hold together, since they have 1 child, 1 on the way, and she has 1 he is the daddy role for. Someone commented they should remember the kiddos. Really? don't you think they have thought about that? Sometimes staying is worse on the kids than leaving. People need to get their heads out of their asses and look outside of the bible belt.
Re: This irritated me and I don't know why.
I can tell you that my parents got divorced after 23 years of marriage, right before my senior year of high school.
And you know what? They are both happier in their lives and far less miserable to be around. Divorce really is the best option sometimes.

That would irritate me, too. I mean, it is a shame that it didn't work out with that many kids involved, but sometimes it's the best option.
I have a friend whose parents divorced when she was really young and the parents remained close friends. My parents, on the other hand, stuck around for the kids and were miserable. They divorced right after I graduated and they can barely stand being in the room together. Sometimes leaving is thinking about the kids.
