After the Flagyl his C. diff came back worse than before. It's neverending, and I'm at my wits end. We may be spending much of the next week in the hospital, and I'm pretty sure I'll be missing my brother's wedding on Saturday.
I just want to cry.
I knew he was sick and the doctors at his pedi office brushed me off like I was some crazy mother. It was pretty obvious that he may develop C. diff since he was on so many antibiotics in just 5 weeks. They ignored me while he got sicker, and now it's so bad that he'll probably need an IV drip and GI therapy to kill all the bad bacteria because it was too late for the usual treatment when they finally caught it.
His diarrhea is so bad now, and the C. diff is causing him to poop completely undigested food. He's basically not getting anything from the solids he's eating. I'm so worried and scared. I know the childrens hospital will take care of him, but I just wish this was all over and he was better right now.
Re: DS is still really sick
I'm so sorry, it's good that you were persistent. I hope that Children's can give him all the care he needs to get this taken care of for good.
I'll be thinking of you and your family and sending good thoughts and prayers.
omg poor baby! (and momma!) c diff is terrible! i'm so sorry! why don't you just take him to the children's hospital now (or in the am if he's sleeping now)? i'm sure if he's that bad they'll just admit him. while that may be hard and scary, maybe getting him more intensive care will help.
i'm so sorry you're dealing with this. good luck and t&p!
I'm really sorry. I know how you feel. Jake had a high fever last week, and after bringing him a few times, we were finally admitted after they found bacteria in his blood. He's on IV antibiotics, just the first few rounds made a huge difference. We are still in the hospital.
I really hope he gets better soon. You'll be in my thoughts.
Thanks for your support, ladies! We were in the ER yesterday for a few hours, and they helped keep him hydrated and told us we needed to call the GI specialist in the morning. We'll be seen either today or tomorrow, but the doctor there is ready for us. They needed to wait for some more labs to come in (since you need a stool test done to figure out exactly what's wrong), but they should be in today. I'm thinking we'll be seen this morning.
Katie, I hope your little guys feels better soon too. I've been thinking about him a lot.
