Is there a trick to this? Jack will squirm and wake himself up unless he gets burped. But, it's a Catch-22 because he doesn't burp when he's sleeping.
Does anyone have a good technique to get them to burp when they are asleep?
I have tried patting him (firm and light), bending him over, putting him up on my shoulder, laying him on my knee, and every way in between.
HELP!
Re: Burping a sleeping baby
Why is he eating while sleeping? Does he just fall asleep while eating or do you dreamfeed him?
If you dreamfeed him, I'd say let him be. We never burp DD (we still dreamfeed).
If he is falling asleep while eating, I'd say the burping should wake him up. Does it not?
ugh, we often have the same problem. I try to give DD gas drops during the bottle and it sometimes helps
(To pp, not sure if this is why, but our DD "wakes up" to eat 2x per night, but she's barely awake and usually sleeps through most of her bottle. She definitely needs to be fed though or she'll keep crying.)
