After some futile efforts to score a doll for Emmy's birthday I decided to order a kit and make one myself. Supplies just arrived. I have never sewn anything... ever. I don't even know how to thread my sewing machine, I make my H do it. Supposedly, it's not that difficult if you follow the instructions. We'll see!
Oooh, who did you get the kit from? I ordered a kit too and fully intend to make it for J's 2nd birthday in 2 months. But I haven't started yet so... we'll see! Maybe I'll be inspired by you to get down to business

I ordered the Joy's Waldorf Dolls 10 inch brother/sister doll pattern. I'm going to make 2 girls though, I think. I've been working on the head for a bit and my hands HURT! It's really hard to get the wool tightly packed. Ouch, ouch, ouch! lol
I can take pictures of the process... right now my picture would just be of a pile of wool though

Hey, same one I got! Well, I got a boy with yarn etc to match J's hair/eye/skin color
Do you know how to wet felt? That's how I got the head tightly packed. That's all I've done so far though, lol.
