To make sure dd is getting enough hind milk I'm switching to feeding on one side only. For those of you who do this how do you pump? Both to build supply and to replace a feeding?

I feed on one side only at night and the 1st morning feed. I then pump both sides after the morning feeding (7:00 am). Of course, since DS has eaten off one breast, it's completely empty. I still pump that side though and usually get a few drops. My only advice would be to determine which breast is the "OVERACHIEVER". This is the breast I always save to pump because I get a few more ozs from that side.
DS only feeds from one side every feeding, but I work 8-5 weekdays and I pump both sides while at work, otherwise I would not pump enough. He seems to eat more out of a bottle. They seem to even out while at work then go right back to producing like he is only nursing one side at a time while I am with him. Don't know how or why it works that well but it does. Also on weekends and don't pump and don't have issues of engorgement during the times when I would normally pump both sides.
