I don't like baby leashes. They drive me mad to see a child in one. I don't even like leases on my dogs, but that's the law. I can see mutiples at the age of 2, maybe. They are just NMS!
I hate looking at pictures of people's babies/kids where they have food on their faces. ?It makes me want to throw up. ?I'm really hoping I have a change of heart when DD starts eating solids or it's going to be a long couple of years...lol.

I saw the news story about pesticides on veggies and fruit being linked to ADD/ADHD and I laughed my butt off. Why...I was laughing at the ladies on here who are so against tv and junk food because it's sooooo awful...and hmm...look at that, healthy food could be causing it!
**this was my unpopular opinion on the 6-9 board, but since I'm between this board and that one, I'll post it here too!**
I feel like a child is more the mother's than the father's...like a 80% - 20% split. I've always felt this way (and been told MANY times how effed up I am). I mean, a mother carries the child inside of her for 9 months, is responsible for making healthy decisions to keep the child safe inside of her, has to deal with gaining weight, stretch marks, heartburn, swelling, etc., gives birth to the child, and then if EBF is responsible for nourishing the child.... all the father did was have an orgasm...big thrill!
i don't really see that an unpopular opinion, because i think most people go at putting a leash on a person.
I've seen them on kids a lot. Some people think they are a cute way of controlling thier kids. I think we also debated it on here before and moms were pro-leashing.
I seen a mother with one at target yesterday. That prompted my post.
It drives me BSC that people are going on and on about Obama "not attending the memorial day ceremony at Arlington. GW and his father and other before did not attend the ceremony and sent the VPs in their place. Do your research people or at least check out Snopes!: https://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/memorialday.asp
Opinions are like buttholes.....Everybody has one and they all stink...LOL
Thinks that if people are on Welfare and are NOT trying to better themselves (by going to school to get a degree or learn a trade and arent prepared to find gainful employment) after a year they should be kicked off of it. I hate the abuse that goes on with our government assistance programs. The programs were made to ASSIST people not for people to live off of indefinitely!

I totally agree! Like if you're on welfare with one kid, and then the more kids you have, the bigger the paycheck they give you? Um, no. That's ridiculous.
I saw a woman at the grocery store paying for two HUGE grocery carts with food stamps. Easily like $300-400 worth of food. And then the screen displayed her remaining balance for the month AFTER paying for that. Ready for it? It was still almost $400! Like seriously, how many kids do you have that you get $800 a month just in food stamps? NOT FREAKING FAIR.

I know it's unpopular, but I agree. Sorry, but you can't take away the fact that this child lived INSIDE YOUR BODY for almost a year, and that you birthed him or her. The child IS more the mommy's. Sorry.
i don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, or just an irrational fear/flameworthy...
my husband and i are recent transplants to the area we live in. i really hope that my LO doesn't end up with a southern accent. It just seems like it would be weird, as both of us and our families are from the midwest.
the thought occurred to me recently because my childcare provider has a very strong accent.
I really don't like acrylic fingernails. I think they're very germy!
I agree, but I think they're trashy.
I love my nails. I can't grow my own....I've apparently be blessed *cough* with paper thin nails that tear CONSTANTLY. I keep them, short, though. There's a cashier at the grocery store who has them and they're easily over an inch long. Gross.
If I don't have acrylic nails on my nails tear back so far that I've had infections. Now THAT is gross.

I LOVE regional accents! Any region. The US is becoming so homogenized & we all sound the same now. It makes me sad. I hope my boy ends up with a very specified accent.

I agree with you. But I hate when some people (cough cough DH's family) act like anyone on assistance is trash. WE receive formula through WIC. It's certainly not something we advertise, but I'm in nursing school right now and DH is working 2 jobs so that in a little over a year we can fully support ourselves.

I think that instead of the government subsidizing corn and soybean farmers, they subsidize actual food farmers, in order to make things like broccoli and tomatoes and radishes affordable for families. Government incentives for organic farms & seasonal sustainability would make our population so much more healthy. (Including a surcharge on junk food and fast food, like they have now on soda. Maybe a tax on refined corn & soybean products...)
I don't think the government is the answer to everything, but we're already paying farmers to leech the land & grow things that people don't really eat (or shouldn't). Why not turn that around & do something worthwhile?

I feel that people who are financially able but chose not to have more than 1 child are depriving their child a friend for life. Their child's children will never have an aunt or uncle, or any cousins on that side of the family. I was an only child and longed for a brother or sister, and now that I'm an adult I dont get any biological nieces or nephews.
Opinions are like buttholes.....Everybody has one and they all stink...LOL

I think it is awesome that you are in school and DH is working hard to support y'all. I think you have 2 types of people on assistance....People like you and your hubby who are working your tails off and working toward a better and brighter future for you and your children and then you have the people who sit on their butts and do as little as possible and abuse the system. I am sorry your DH's family are idiots.

i like regional accents too...but i want my baby to sound like mommy and daddy. we have our own accents, donchaknow! this desire is probably irrational, but it is very visceral and reflexive.

I like accents, but not the Pittsburgh accent. I dread my DS having one. I've lived here all my life and don't and my DH is from NYC, so we should be good. I do, however, rock the P'burgh colloquialisms.
I think that the obsession with "all organic" is ridiculous. (Not to mention, expensive.) I'm all for feeding my child healthy foods, etc, but I think that not exposing your child to anything is only asking for trouble.
I feel the same way about people who won't allow their kids to have any junk food. Once a child hits about 18 months or so a sucker every once in awhile isn't going to kill them. In fact, IMO, if you keep all sweets away from your child you're going to end up with an obese adult. (That said, I don't let DS drink soda because of the caffeine. But, he does get Sprite or Orange Soda at parties, etc)
And, speaking of drinks, any child over the age of about 12-18 months should be off of a bottle. End of story. There's no reason to have a 2 year old drinking juice out of a bottle. Give the kid a sippy cup.
And don't even get me started on the people I know who give their kids SODA in a baby bottle....at the age of 10 months. ("He loves it! And he thinks it's so funny that it bubbles up and squirts out o fthe nipple!" I just imagine her house with soda all over the walls....)
i don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, or just an irrational fear/flameworthy...

It drives me crazy when people say, "I seen."
In fact, it drives me so nuts, I apparently had to post twice about it.

I hate babysteals.com. Their stuff is still expensive and they sell out faster than us West coast people can buy it.
I will not vote for people that post their babies in contests. I intentionally vote for someone else.
