How many ounces does your 4 month old eat and how often? Mine still nurses but he'll do so every two hours. But when he takes formula, he eats 4 + ounces and I just don't produce that much by the breast. I'm worried he's not getting enough.
My nearly 4 month old takes 4 oz every 3 hours, except for some reason one of his midday feeds he only takes 2 oz. ??? That is at daycare, I nurse him at home so I'm not sure how much he is getting then.
6 oz every 3ish hours. He goes longer between bottle #3 and #4 and shorter between #4 and #5 (last bottle of the day).
We were doing 4 oz every 2-3 hours (with 1 bottle over night) until a couple of weeks ago. Since we've increased to 6 oz, he's been much more content and doesn't have to eat in the middle of the night.
I know you asked for 4 month moms, but my 3 month old has about 5-6 oz. every three hours. We started increasing the ounces and frequency and now he sleeps for about 11-12 hours at night with one feeding after about 7 or 8 hours.
My LO is EBF, and eats every 2-3 hours during the day, and sleeps 8-12 uninterrupted hours at night. When I pump I get 1-4 ounces per side. I've heard that babies are much more efficient at nursing then a pump is, so I generally assume he gets more than that. Plus I will only pump 10 mins max, and he'll nurse 30+ minutes sometimes.
I am away from DD for 5 hours on weekdays and I pump once during that time and get ~8 oz. That's DD's bottle for the next day and she generally drinks the whole thing over the 5 hour period- sometimes in one go and sometimes in several smaller feedings. I feed her just before I leave for work and when I get back. She BFs every 2.5-3 hours during the day and is sleeping 5-8 hours at night.
DD usually drinks about 6-7 oz every 4 hours, and sleeps 10-12 hours at night (I know, sooooo lucky!) She is FF. Sometimes she gets picky and only drinks 4-5 oz one feeding, but then sucks the 7oz bottle dry the next feeding.

Littlest Man Sept 2012
We just started on a little formula. SO he gets about 3 ozs BM and 2 ozs formula every 2-3 hours.
He usually leaves an ounce though.
