Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Really...already?

In B's diaper bag from school, I found a fundraiser sheet. I didn't expect this until she was at least in Kindergarden. They are selling $15 boxes of cookie dough to raise money for a new water slide and to cut part of the expenses for preschool parents for enrollment. To get the parents that will not benefit from this to partcipate, they are offering $$$ towards our daycare account. I just can't bring myself to do this. It is a $55 enrollment fee for preschool and to me if every child (that would use it) just gave $5 towards the water slide it would be paid for.

  • I detest those things.  All they do is rip people off and put money in the hands of the fundraising company.  My kid won't be selling that junk.  Now, if they wanted to do something like a bike a thon, a bake sale, or something else in the community, I'd even help out.

Why on earth do they need a water slide?  Sounds like a luxury that isn't necessary.

  • I don't mind fundraisers like book fairs or things like that, but i hate candy sales, cookie dough, and other such unhealthy stuff.
  • She is four months old! That's my biggest complaint.
