Babies: 3 - 6 Months

COMPLETE DISASTER!!!

So, I would call today a failure as of 7:30am.  My LO has been fighting taking his bottle in recent days, until he gets so tired he eats in his sleep.  And the nap issue is a complete disaster.  He threw up all of his breakfast all over me this morning and I am now listening to him scream because he is tired and won't go to sleep.  I am trying the cry it out method as a last resort.  I have read and tried all the other books but none of them work.  He was on a perfect schedule until 2 months old and now the only thing I can keep consistent are his feedings but now he is even making that difficult.

I feel like a complete failure today because I am a SAHM and all he does is eat, sleep, and poop and I can't get any of it right!!!!

Re: COMPLETE DISASTER!!!

  • Could he be getting some teeth? I remember with my first that when her gums were really bothering her she refused bottles. I'd try to give him some Tylenol and see if his temperment improves. Deep breaths, mama. This too shall pass.

  • DD ate less than usual and was very cranky for about 4 days before she got her teeth, could that be it??
  • People have been telling me he is teething for about 3 months now...drooling like a mad man and chewing on everything.  I really hope that is what it is.

yeah, teething seems to be the go-to explanation for a cranky baby. Given the age of your baby though, I'd think the possibility that's it teething would be higher.

  • I understand about everyone telling you that, we were in the same situation. I didn't think anything of it until I actually saw teeth, its probably like that for a lot of people because babies this age drool and put things in their mouth, its just what they do lol. But the eating thing was definitely it for us, we just didn't know it. She went back to her normal self as soon as they popped through, GL!
  • Thank you SO MUCH for your help.  I gave him some tylenol and in about 15 mins he was asleep in my arms.  I will keep him on it today and see if the eating improves.  You guys may be life savers!  I just try not to give tylenol too much.  I wish I knew when he really needed it and when he was just being fussy.
