Pediatric GI?

Anyone's LO see a GI specialist?  DS is being referred because he continues to have tummy troubles. I think we're being referred more for my piece of mind than anything else, but I'm curious to hear if you've seen one.

Why did/does your LO see a GI? What has your experience been like?

Re: Pediatric GI?

  • I don't have any experience but I just want to say good luck.  Our next step is a specialist too.

  • DD has been seeing a Ped GI for 2 months now. I really like our GI, but was surprised that the testing was done at our very first appt. (Ph Probe and Upper GI) Not sure what the issues are with your LO but DD has silent reflux, milk/soy protein intolerance, & delayed gastric emptying. I feel that they are treating her issues aggressively. I am very pleased and feel like we are starting to get things under control. Feel free to email me if you have any questions megs4040@yahoo.com. (I don't know how to do the PM thing! Indifferent)

HTH and good luck with your LO! Hope his tummy troubles get resolved soon! It's tough seeing them in so much pain!

  • We were referred to one because of my DS's food intolerances.  They didn't do anything at the first appointment but talk to us.  We didn't have any additional appts once he was diagnosed, which i was glad about.  I was apprehensive of any testing.

  • We have an appointment next Wednesday to meet with ours.  Noah is not gaining enough weight for the doctors liking and they want to find out why.
