I used to keep an elastic pony tail holder on my wrist and switch it when I fed her (so if it was on my right wrist, I'd know I fed on that side last).
I just try to remember. I know sometimes I forget and I try to do the feel which is fuller test LOL....I dont think this is a good way to do it though. Unless its been awhile since he ate.
For 2 months I have been writing it down in a notebook.... everyday I write the time and side (L or R) everytime I feed. We filled an entire little notebook! It seems silly, but some of my friends said that's what they've done too. Once I go back to work, she'll have less breast feddings during the day (ie, she'll get bottles at daycare) so I think I'll stop doing this. I am hoping I can just remember or just tell by the feel of my boobs. Or, one idea I might do is to wear a bracelet on the side I fed on last (or the side I'm due to feed on next).
Also, Motherhood Maternity (and I assume some other places too... I think Medela makes one) sells a bracelet. It looks like one of those Livestrong bracelets but in pink or blue and it has little tabs to move to choose the time and you switch what wrist you wear it on depending on what side you last fed on.

this but sometimes I unhook my nursing tank at night (it still stays up my boobs aren't that big) on the side that is next so I don't have to think.

I have an itzbeen timer and it has a button you slide to the left or right to keep track. If it's not with me, I feel my boobs to see if I can tell which one is fuller.

I've been keeping a nursing log like a PP said where I write down the time I nursed and what side I nursed on (most of the time I nurse on both sides so I write down the order that I nursed...L/R or R/L). I am definitely not an anal person but this was recommended by a few friends to help me keep track. IT's been very helpful to know what our last feeding was and what side I left off on. On days that I am not home, I tie a tiny piece of ribbon on the bra strap that I left off on so that I know to start on the other side at my next nursing session. HTH
