RP: Long nap

My DS has been sleeping for almost 2 1/2 hours.  His typical nap time is 40 minutes...do I wake him?

Re: RP: Long nap

  • I'd wake him up if he doesn't do so on his own by 3 hours. After 3 hours you run the risk of them getting night and day mixed up apparently.

  • My philosophy is...Don't wake a sleeping baby!

  • My munchkin naps from 2-6 or 7 everyday.  He never wakes up at night.  Let him sleep. He's tired. they grow when they sleep. let him sleep.

  • If K naps longer than 3 hours I will go in and gently rub his back or face.  Most of the time he will start to wake on his own.  The couple times he has napped for more than 3 hours it did not affect his night time routine.
  • I never did and my DS STTN.

  • I only wake mine up if it is past 5:30 in the afternoon.  If he sleeps too late then bed time is a fail.  We have enough issues with sleep lately to begin with.
  • Do what you think is best, but my DS started taking a 3hr nap during the day around 2 months, and he STTN (8:30pm-8am).  However, if he doesn't get his 3hr nap, he sleeps worse!  You can always try this one out and see how it goes.  If he does the same/better at night, let him sleep in the future.  If not, then wake him.  Good luck!
If being a math nerd is wrong, I don't wanna be right!
  • I will wake DD if it's been 3+ hours or it's after 5:30. Otherwise, I let her snooze.
