DD screams if I lay her flat on the floor. She doesn't mind the boppy and actually holds her head up. But she has yet to lift her head off the floor. Should she be past this point already??
That's how Evan was until this very morning... This morning DH put him down without the Boppy and we waited for the wailing, but he just picked up his head and was content! Success!!!
Honestly, I let her whine and fuss, but not cry. There's a fine line. Somedays she doesn't mind it, somedays she hates it and spends 30 seconds there. She has been able to roll over since 6 weeks, though. (although only does it once a week now that she can lift her head higher... building different muscles, I guess?)
I don't think DD was able to push up or hold her head up during TT until she was closer to 3.5 months.
She loves TT now! I just put toys (anything that lights up or plays music is helpful) in front of her and she'll interact with them for up to 30 minutes or so at a time. When she gets tired of being on her tummy, she rolls over to her back on her own.
That sounds like tummy time in our house up until about 3 weeks ago. We would lay him on the floor and he lay there and scream, we did it one night after work and he just layed there picked his head up and smiled at us. It will get better! DS still only tolerates about 5 minutes at a time on his tummy, but we're making progress.
I don't do flat on the mat tummy time, DS gets neck workout time on my chest. If I put him on the mat, he goes on his back. He learned on his own time to roll back to front and front to back, he's close to crawling. I didn't want to force him to do tummy time - we tried right when we got home, and he freakin' hated it.
Do you get eye level with her? I have been putting DS on his tummy in his crib and I sit or kneel on the floor and we talk and I put toys there for him and he does pretty well. I have even read him a book while he is in there. He has been a lot less fussy if DH or I are right at his level when he's on his tummy.
Re: How does Tummy Time go?
DS hates tummy time, if hes on me he does great, boppy sometimes works, but really, not much tummy time done here!
I will keep trying to get him to get better at at!
