What are your "necessities" for baby in your hurricane kit? I know I am going to keep at least a two week supply of formula and about 4 gallons of Nursery Water...and probably make sure I have plenty of diapers. Any other suggestions...
I live more inland, but thanks for making me think about it. I had not considered this. I BF so feeding her should not be a problem. But, I would definitely have a great deal of water for you both. Dipers, wipes, toys, tylenol, gas drops, thermometer and medical necessities.
jars of baby food and/or cereal, first aid items, sunblock, extra clothes, soap, diaper rash cream
FYI...Target has a air and moisture tight box that makes a great little box for supplies. Its by RE Organize - Keep Safe Storage Box. I think it was $6.99 for the medium size (16Lx11Wx11H).
Well... I am practically an expert on this issue! We got hit my Hurricane Ivan in 2004 when DD1 was 4 1/2 months old. I had no power for 3 weeks!
Just make sure you have PLENTY of diapers, wipes, formula, bottled water, baby food (if eating solids) light clothing, baby safe bug spray and sunscreen (bc post hurricane is a lot like camping, lol)
I always kept some washcloths in the ice cooler to wipe LO down bc it was SOOOO hot out as well. Luckily, my step dad had a whole house generator installed in his home, so next time we take a direct hit we will have enough power to run the AC.

Oh my goodness I have not even thought about this. How horrible that it has not even crossed my mind. Hurricane season has come too soon!
