Did you have to get 1 post partum period before starting the pill?

I am seeing my doc on friday. i want to start the pill again but i haven't gotten my 1 period yet. My dd is 4m old, i bf for the first 3 months.

Nope. I didn't when I went back on the pill after DD or when I got an IUD after DS. (And they were different OB/GYNs.)

I did, but I also have PCOS. The OB gave me prevera (sp) to jump start my period so I could start. I just finally got it yesterday for the first time so I'll be starting the pill on Sunday. For some reason they told me I had to start on Sunday.

I didn't have one before I started on the pill. My first post partum period was the last week of my pill pack like it always was.

Why did having PCOS mean you needed to have a period first? I have it too, so I'm just curious.

Nope. My doc prescribed the mini-pill at my 6 week PP and I started it the Sunday after the appt. I EBF and my DS is almost 4 months. No AF yet (I hope I didn't just jinx myself). My mom said after each of her babies (3) she didn't have AF for 6 months (here's hoping).

My dr gave me 2 options. Option 1: Start taking it right away and use back up protection for a month or until I know forsure I have ovulated or option 2: Wait till I get my period and start taking it. I took the first one cause I didn't wanna wait any longer and never did bf. haha.
