I got my Infantimo "Wrap and Tie" in the mail today for $17.99.
I love it. Surprisingly good quality, very well padded straps, nice and soft.
I love it as much as my BabyHawk. My husband likes it more... it's actually bigger than the BH and he can tie it comfortably. It also has an additional carry position because of some extra loops. I've been wearing him in it for 4 hours and it works just as well as the 4x more expensive models.
So.... for the price you totally can't go wrong!
Re: Carrier snobs beware...
DD is like this too in the mei tai I made. She's tall, but I think this is growing room. If you don't like the fit, you can roll the waist strap up once or twice when you tie it (so it makes a shorter apron. This should allow your LO to sit a little higher.
Me too! Now all I need is a baby to put in it. Sigh.
Got it, thanks!
I think this one doesn't fall under snobbery, it falls under supporting companies that have good business practices.
I could care less how much a carrier costs or the brand name. If a carrier costs only $18 & is a great carrier, fabulous. However, Infantino knew of the issues with their bag sling for YEARS before they finally recalled it. They only recalled it under extreme gov't pressure. They chose to sell an unsafe product, one that could cause small infants to die. They could have easily redesigned the sling years ago.
I won't buy Infantino products because of that. There are plenty of other great companies, including small businesses & WAHM run companies, that make quality products for a good price.
Where you buy your razors? Your TP? Your jeans?
I mean sure you can get upset about carriers but drop in the bucket compared to the world of goods we purchase. I'd rather not have an 8 year old child from bangladesh sew my jeans but you have to draw the line somewhere.
If this is your hill to die on own it. But I have 0 issue with someone scoring a deal on a sling.
I'm simply saying there's a choice here, not that I'm really upset about a baby carrier from a co. w/ crappy biz practices. I'm not upset about it at all, I just choose not to buy one. It's not everyone's "hill to die on", & I'm not saying everyone should boycott Infantino, I'm just showing a different side of the coin. If I can choose a product that's more eco-friendly, or from a co. with better biz practices, or that doesn't use child labor, etc. etc. I do it. From food to TP to baby carriers. No, it's not always possible. I'm not going to skip shaving to save the planet from evil. Yes, sometimes I have to do what's within my budget. But I also vote with my dollars whenever I can.
