Anyone use a Sleep Positioner to stop LO from rolling over and waking up?

I have seen post after post about LO's rolling over and waking up in the night...but any advice I have seen hasn't really worked to get it to stop.  This isn't about SIDS as my LO sleeps on his stomach anyways, it is just to keep him from waking up many many times in the middle of the night!  He hasn't figured out how to roll back over yet and I keep giving him plenty of tummy time and even try to teach him to roll over.  It hasn't worked and this has been going on for over a month now!  I have had a couple of people recommend getting a sleep positioner to stop him from rolling over, but A.) I'm not sure if this would even work or if he would roll right over it and B.) I don't know how safe this would be.  Any advice?  TIA

  • our pedi told us to stop using it once she started moving around....we took it out two months ago once she started "inchworming" off of it

  • We were using a sleep positioner. Ours said to stop using it when baby starts rolling. Its back in the box now.

  • We had the same problem when Tooter first learned to roll over, but he eventually grew out of the "waking himself up" phase.  I wouldn't recommend the positioner.. our Pedi frowned when I brought up the idea to her.  LOL

How long has she been doing this? For about a week or two my daughter did this, and then she out grew it. I'd say to give it a little time.

I am running into this now.  LO will work his way down and only his head is even left on the cushion thing.  My doc also told us to stop using it once LO is moving more.  I had been using it because LO would not sleep directly on his back and this would keep him on his side better.  Have you asked your doc if your LO waking up oh their belly is something to worry about?

  • We have one that we used becuase of LO's reflux issue.  She has also managed to inch her way out of it.  We don't really use it.  I have the same problem with my LO and rolling over. The past weekendnights have been tough, but last night was much better.  She cried lightly a few times and stopped after maybe about 2 min.  I only had to check in on her once, and she was sleeping on her side.  She did get up an hour earlier than normal (around 5am) and i left her there, but i couldn't get back to sleep because she was just babbling on and on. It was cute and obnoxious (LOL!) at the same time.  Maybe your LO will learn to sleep on his tummy or side.  I'm hoping tonight will be better for us.

  • I tried a sleep positioner but LO just tries to roll out of it all night. So, I took it out and even though she is constantly trying to roll in her sleep, she hasn't done it yet (although she does it awake all the time) and she does not wake up. I did read that some people have used those elevation pads under the crib sheet. I don't know if using one for that reason would be a good idea though. I would say just wait for your LO to grow out of it...
