Blueberries

Okay I am so confused.  A couple of places I read it was okay to introduce blueberries 6-9 months, so today I pureed up some fresh blueberries and gave Aubrey some with her oatmeal.  Well I was just checking wholesome baby foods to see what they suggest on mixing it with other fruits and it says that you don't need to introduce them till 8-10 months.

I read it's info and it says that it's related to cranberries which is low on the allergen list, and it's not related in the family of strawberries, raspberries, etc which are high on the list.  Aubrey didn't show any weird reaction to it, she seemed to really enjoy them.  So I am pretty sure it's okay.

But why do you figure it's got conflicting info on when to start them?  Should I not feed her anymore blueberries till next month when she's 8 months, or since she didn't have a reaction do you think I am okay to keep feeding her them.  When did you introduce blueberries to your LO's?

Re: Blueberries

  • I don't remember when I introduced them, but I would say that if she doesn't have a bad reaction to them, it's probably okay to continue giving them.
  • I think blue berries are fine...and since you arleady gave them to her - and she didn't have any reaction, then I think you're totally in the clear :)

(We gave Avery blueberries around this time last year too - whenever they were in season and she loved them!)
