We are just starting talking about names for our (hypothetical) children, so our lists are long and pretty varied. Here are some girl names we are considering. Please rank them in order of your preference, and offer any strong opinions you have about them. And if you have any alternate suggestions, I'm all ears! We like names that are easily pronounced and spelled, relatively uncommon, but not made-up sounding. MN will probably be Elise or Lynn (family names). Aaaaand...go!
Imogen
Ainsley
Mariah
Charlotte
Re: WDYT of these girl names?
In order of preference:
Charlotte
Ainsley (I think this is taking a ride on the popular train lately, though)
Mariah
Imogen (this one is awful, imo. It goes against everything you want...it sounds made up and I have no idea how it would be pronounced)
I like Charlotte and Ainsley.
Imogen, really dislike, I have no idea why it's becoming popular, I think it's actually hard to pronounce.
Mariah, all I can think of is Mariah Carey, so I'm not a fan.
I like Elise as a middle name, not a fan of Lynn.
Charlotte is my favorite but I don't particularly care for it with either of your middle name choices... tough to say with the L's. Kind of a tongue twister.
I like Imogen Elise, Ainsley Lynn and Mariah Lynn.

LOVE Imogen. Such a great name.
Like Charlotte.
Not a fan of Ainsley or Mariah.
1. Charlotte - This is timeless and lovely.
2. Ainsley - I love this, not very common in my area.
3. Mariah - NMS, but a very pretty name
4. Imogen - ? how do you say this?
Imogen is pronounced "IM-uh-jin." This is why I'm posting this list here...I thought it was common enough that most people would know how to pronounce it, but apparently that is not the case.
1. Charlotte
2. Mariah
3. Imogen
4. Ainsley
Imogen and Ainsley are NMS. Charlotte is my #1 by far but Mariah is pretty too.
Imogen - I'm still not clear about the appeal of this name or it's origins...so I guess from the uninformed point of view, it sounds like a pharmaceuticals company
Ainsley - I think of Ainsley Harriot: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ainsley_Harriott so it will always be a boy name to me, even though the ley gives it a girly look.
Mariah - I like how it flows and all, I just don't necessarily like it. (probably years of my mom singing "...and they call the wind, Mariah")
Charlotte - this name is beautiful and gaining in popularity.

Imogen makes me think that it is a type of company not a name for a human.
Ainsley has grown on me the past couple years since I know this adorable girl with that name.
Mariah - I think of Pariah
Charlotte - I love it plus I love the nn of Charlie for a little girl!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!

Ainsley's been my favorite name for a very long time, and it's disappointing that it's all of a sudden becoming popular
Mariah
Imogen
Charlotte (hate this name, sorry)

Imogen - old, stuffy, awful. Imogen Heap. Don't know what that is from, but the name is from somewhere
Ainsley - plain. Okay.
Mariah - I like this a lot and can't get Mariah Carey out of my head. Conflicted on this one.
Charlotte - see my sig!

I love, love, love the name Ainsley! I wanted to name DD Ainsley, but DH has an uncle that he isn't too fond of with the name Ainsley, and he didn't want to appear to be honoring that unliked uncle by using the name. Regardless, that would be my favorite of your list.
I like Charlotte, and Imogen is growing on me, but I'm not a fan of Mariah.
Ditto! Why is something automatically assumed to be made up just because you've never heard of it/can't pronounce it?
It's pronounced Emma-jean
In order of preference:
1. Charlotte-pretty and classic
2. Imogen-I like this name. I can't understand how some people have never heard of this name! I looked it up and it looks like it's more popular in England and Wales, maybe that's why. Anyway, it's a nice name.
3. Mariah-Nice enough name, no strong opinions either way.
4. Ainsley-nms
My grandma is also Imogene - her nn as a kid was Immy... which I love.
I completely agree!
