Keep a stash past cow's milk transition?

Is there a point to keeping a freezer stash once DD can take cows milk to daycare instead of BM? I just feel like if I was away from her for a nursing at that point, she could be tied over with other things then my milk. I'm just trying to find a reason to keep one up and I can't.

Also, do you have any minimum amounts in mind for your stash for your older babies? Like, I have 25oz now in the fridge, but I know I wont really need that much on hand in a couple of months if everything goes well.

TIA!

Re: Keep a stash past cow's milk transition?

  • I will be keeping a stash for about a month or so after he starts cows milk. My friends daughter got sick after having it for a month and they had to go to soy for a while before trying again. If I don't use I'll just donate so it's not going to waste. I just like to have options in case something did happen.
  • for some reason it makes me nervous to get down really low on the stash. Yet another transition to get used to, huh?

  • LET GO!

I'll still nurse outside of the daytime, so she will be getting some BM for a while.
