I used a mini salad spinner to clean them at work then set the spinner on the shelf above my desk to dry. Nobody ever asked what it was or what it was for.
Flame all you want, but I just put mine in a wetbag and then in my cooler bag while not in use. I wash them once a day, and I've never had any problems. I still use common sense though - if they smelled or something I would definitely wash them.
With DC #1 I used those Medela cleaning wipes and plan to do that again when I go back to work in a few weeks. I just use those at work and then when I get home I wash them fully.
