A friend of mine just adopted a baby boy and brought him home on Thursday. He is a little over 2 months old. I want to get her a gift, and I was looking at her registry, but also wondering what might be really special that she would like to receive. I was thinking maybe something personalized, but I am not sure what would be best. I can't imagine what it must be like to one day not be parents, then you get the call and suddenly, parents you are. My guess is they have the bare essentials right now. I am so psyched for them and the baby is such a cutie. Any suggestions-they are not local so I would be mailing the gift. TIA!
Re: Gift Suggestions Needed
Etsy has a ton of cute mom necklaces - you could put on his name, day he came home, birth date, whatever.
Where did they adopt him from? My cousin adopted a baby from Korea a few years ago, and I bought her this book. She absolutely loved it. All the details were just like her story, from the waiting for the phone call to the anticipation in the airport.
Other than that, I really love the personalized hooded towels from PBK.

I give these all the time, I have yet to hear that someone didn't love it. And I have one for DS, and will be getting one for DS2.

They're pics on the website don't look as good as the actual product does.
