nickname for darnell

Hello Ladies:

Well my dH just told me today that he would like to name our little guy darnell if we have a boy.  Now I am not a fan of the name myself, but I am willing to work with it because our son would be a junior and that means a lot to my dH.  i would strongly prefer to not have 2 darnells floating around the house so i am trying to think of a nickname we could use instead.  any ideas for a darnell julius?

I'm for this. That's a hard one! Darn just doesn't sound like a nice thing to call a baby.

I used to have a pastor who went by the name Dar (sounds like "car").  That would work.  ?????

I know a Darnell and we've always just called him Dee.

I was going to say DJ, too.  Once he's older, he can still use Darnell professionally, if he wants to, but I can understand wanting to have a way to differentiate him from his daddy at home.

I like Julius and if that doesn't work then I also agree with DJ.  Are these options that you'd consider/like?

Like many of the other ladies, my first thought was DJ. Julius works, too. As for nicknames for Darnell...I definitely don't have anything in mind.
