Bathroom Color...

I'm trying to think of the best accent color for bathroom towels, decor, etc.  I have the shower curtain picked out - A White Waffle-Weave.  Can you give color suggestions for towels, rugs, etc?  My default is ALWAYS chocolate brown so I'm trying to think outside the box.

Thanks!

Re: Bathroom Color...

  • My fav colors are purple and green together- I just redid my powder room in those colors and i love it. Its a deep purple and a lighter than hunter green. its not overly feminine-

I have a lot of white accents in the powder room- so that could look nice with your shower curtain-

guest bath/kids bath--yellow, green and bright pink :)

  • I always prefer color on the walls and white towels, curtain, etc.  We have 1.5 baths.  Our full bath has buttery yellow walls, and we have a white curtain with gray accents, and white towels.  Our half bath is lilac, and we use white hand towels in it.

  • Get white towels (think of how easy they are to clean)! And then paint the walls DARK DARK navy-something like this (found image online) but I'd even go a smidge darker. imageimage" mce_src="image">The bright white and dark blue will contrast nicely, and look very rich and chic for very cheap. Key is, go darker than you think you're going to need-if you end up choosing a blue that's too light, it'll look like leftover paint from a young boys room and can end up looking cheap. Good luck!

I'm really into sage green lately (or a little bit darker).  I love white towel though.  DH would have ruined so many towels by now with his whitening tooth paste.  (On a side note, has any one tried the bleach safe towels?)

  • Our guest bathroom/DD's bathroom - white waffle weave shower curtain, white subway tile in the bath/white bath, white sink/toilet and cabinets, whitish-grey limestone counter top, grass green walls, light pink accents and towels, with polished nickel finishes

Master - sorry it's espresso brown - brown walls, white sink/toilet/cabinetry, light brownish tumbled stone floors and walk in shower, white and sage green accents with brushed nickel finishes.

I absolutely love both of our bathrooms - and I got to design them from scratch when we moved in our old home.  Describing them just now was therapeutic to me.  thanks

  • Wonderful ideas, ladies!  Unfortunately we'll be renting so I can't paint and I can't remember the wall covers - I believe sort of an eggshell.  I guess I'll have to get in there and see what goes!!

  • What if you do different shades of grey with accents of a dark plum color?

  • I love those white waffle shower curtains.  If I had one with white walls, I'd do slate/gray blue towels, brushed nickel fixtures and towel bars.  Maybe some bamboo or glass accessories like soap pump, tissue cover, etc.  You could do the rugs in the same slate/gray blue to add more color.  On the window I'd do a bamboo shade or something to add texture and color.

    The blue I'm talking about.

    Some cool shower hooks
