Breastfeeding

Longest time you can go between BF or pumping

Just curious.

I am now used to about 8.5-9 hours comfortably (no leaking or engorgement feeling.) LO goes to bed after her last feeding between 630 and 730, then I pump at 10 and feed her the next morning at 630.

Is it possible to drop this last pumping session at night before I go to bed or will I be really uncomfortable? TIA.

Yu could drop it if you wanted to, your body would adjust accordingly in a couple days. I would (and did!) pump as often as possible to keep my supply up, your LO is still so young I would hate for your supply to not be completely set and for you not be able to have enough for baby. My son used to go to bed at 7 and I pumped at 10pm before I went to sleep until he was 11 mos old, and then I began weaning.

  • Try it out just once and see how it goes. It's only a few more hours.

  • As pp said, I think your body will adjust.  The first couple of days or a week may be painful but it'll get better over time.

I go 12 hours between feedings (7-7) and have since Drew started STTN around 2 months.  It took me several weeks to get over the engorgement completely.
