Hello there. I am finally ready to order my wrap, and as you've suggested I'm going with the Vatanai. I was hoping for a Kippawa colorway, but Cindy said that Vatanai isn't weaving it yet, so I think we're going to go with Glacier.
I've used your guide and the links in it, and I'm still a little confused on sizing.
I want to use the vatanai for front, hip, and back carries. I am 5'8, ~160-ish lbs. My husband may also want to use it, he is 6' and 200-ish lbs.
Would 4.5m be ok? Or should we bump up to 5m?
Are there any issues if the wrap is too long?
Thanks for all your help! You've been great!
Re: *ncbelle*
I think you'd be fine with the 4.5 but your DH probably would need the 5 for longer carries. I can do every carry with a 4.0 meter Vat but I don't mind doing them with a 5.0 meter - because it's thin, the extra fabric isn't annoying like it is in other wraps. Plus Vats have long tapers so the length isn't as bulky.
That said, for hip carries even a 4.5 is probably long (but you could wrap the extra back around you). Your DH could also use a 4.5 to do carries like kangaroo that are only one layer so he wouldn't need as much length.
I think that was a totally unhelpful answer!! If you go with the longer one though, you can always hem it if it turns out to be more than you need.

ha! That would be assuming I can sew! Which I can't!!
I think I'll go with the 4.5. He doesn't use the moby very often, so I'm guessing he won't use this one that often either!
