this stinks.

I have been counting calories and eating really well (using spark people) plus working out for the last three weeks.  I wasn't working out at all before and I've made some major changes in what I'm eating.

I haven't lost a single pound.  Not one. Crying WTH?  Just based on calorie intake alone, it doesn't make any sense.

Re: this stinks.

  • keep i mind that muscle weights more then fat.  So you may be losing fat but gaining muscle.  It will start coming off - just keep it up!  Great job!
  • Good for you for making such positive changes! Muscle weighs more than fat, so perhaps you are gaining muscle while losing the fat. Are your clothes fitting better? Do you feel better? Both of these things are what I look at more than the number on the scale.

  • Just because you haven't lost a pound doesn't mean you aren't making positive improvements to your health.  Don't let the scale be your sole judge.  Consider your temperment, your energy level, stuff like that too.

Push the water, keep eating breakfast, nice healthy snacks and meals and don't give up.

promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • OMG the same exact thing happened to me recently.  It was SO frusterating but I was patient and then the weight started coming off in "chunks".  Like I would lose nothing for almost a month and then I would all of the sudden lise 5-7 pounds.  so you probably don;t want to hear this but hang in there and it WILL happen.  something else that may help is varying your exercise routine so your body is always doing something new and also when I plateau I'll add just 15 more minutes of exercise in my day.  Usually it is 15 minutes extra on the treadmill and not even that strenuous but burning those few extra calories helped.  Good luck and HANG IN THERE!
  • That's the thing, I really don't feel any better or different, and my clothes aren't fitting any differently.
