Homedics Sound Spa...

Do any of you (that own this) really see a difference in your DC's sleeping?  Because...I am ready to return it.  J still sleeps exactly the same (for about 4-5 hours, then wakes up, goes right back to sleep)...and there have been 2 nights in the past 3 weeks he has STTN (8-7).  I am not even sure he knows anything is going on...he only looks at the projection if I'm holding him.

"Baby crack", my foot!

Re: Homedics Sound Spa...

  • We have always used some type of sound with Allie.  In the beginning it was lullaby cd's, then it really was just the hum of the humidifier that we ran in her room through winter.  Since the humidifier is now put up, I bought the "crack" machine and it is fine for us.  I never use the projector feature...but like I said, Allie always has some type of sound.  I like for it to drown out other noises in the house since she goes to bed 2-3 hours before us.
    Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in. & Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.

I never thought about that, but he has always had some sort of sound too, so I guess he doesn't notice any difference.  He probably doesn't look at the projection bc he sits up and the picture is on the ceiling.

  • I wouldn't say that it made him sleep any better, but since we used sound from the time he was a newborn, it would probably be weird to him to fall asleep without sound.  There was a time when we used the projection, not for the pictures, but more as a night light.  He wanted it on when we left the room while he was falling asleep.  Then, we would go back in and turn it off.  Recently, we have just started setting the timer so that he falls asleep to the sound, but it goes off after an hour.  Now, we mostly use it to drown out sounds in the house like Haley next door to him when she's getting ready for bed or for when we are watching a movie in the rec room.  I also take it when we go on vacation b/c it drowns out the sounds of us and friends/family in the condo/hotel after he's gone to sleep.
