Maternity clothes

I am 9.5 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I am having a hard time fitting into my regular clothes. I am not adjusting well with the obvious fact that i will have to go to elastic pants. Did anyone else have a hard time with this transition? I am just trying so hard to SUCK IT IN because I haven't told a lot of people yet including my job.

Re: Maternity clothes

  • I'm one of those girls that hates maternity clothes and does the rubberband trick/wears low-rise through most of her pregnancies.

I feel you being pg with #3 though because I started showing at about 10 weeks with #2 and I'm sure it will be about the same with this one :)

  • I've bought a few mat pants already w/ the fully belly panel, but haven't been able to wear them yet (need to get them hemmed).  So I've been wearing my pants / skirts unbuttoned.  We had been TTC for quite some time, so any additions to my waredrobe during that timeframe were always "belly friendly" for this reason.  However, today is the first time I wear an official mat top!

  • I've been wearing my maternity parents just because they are comfy, I only ever bought the demi panel ones, so they don't really feel like maternity pants. My other pants were digging in to me so bad I couldn't stand it.
  • Is it me, or am I the only one who LOVES maternity pants? I already started washing mine. I'm sure I'll transition into them as early as possible. I hated the bella band. I still have one pair of jeans that fit (they're the ones that go under the belly) and I was still wearing them even 3 months after I had DS and I fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes again. Embarrassed  They're comfy!

I have one pair of maternity pants that are SOOOO comfy, but the problem is that they're the "under the belly" type and I look enormous in them.  Seriously, they make my normal pre-BFP belly fat look like a huge baby bump, which would be fine except that I am only FIVE WEEKS PREGNANT.  So yeah, I'm not wearing them.  I'm pretty bloated these past few days though, so I've been rocking my loosest jeans unbuttoned with the be band.

    THIS.

  • I just found out the other week I'm preggo but I'm an athlete (I do kickboxing and boxing) so I'm all about leggings, workout (and yoga) pants - I did buy a beBand from Target though for some of my tighter work pants (as I'm feeling bloated 24/7) but if I'm not at work I am in loose flowy stretch pants :)

I would say check out the stores or online for pants... I'm a fan of Target and Old Navy - they always seem to have maternity clothes on sale :)
