XP: Those with the Sonoline B doppler...

I received my doppler yesterday and tried using it last night for the first time.  After a few minutes, I finally found what I think was my baby's heartbeat.  However, it never displayed a flashing heart or the bpm. Also, it kept shutting off after about 30 seconds.  I'm pretty sure it was the baby's heartbeat we found because it was really fast.  

I know it has an auto-shutoff but I thought it is supposed to shut off after 1 or 2 minutes.  Mine kept cutting off after  30 seconds or so.  

Do you have to have it in a certain mode for it to display the bpm?  I had mine in Mode 1 each time and nothing ever came  up.  Of course, just about every time as soon  as we found the heartbeat it would just cut off.

I have one and I have yet to find the babies heart beat.  I have only found my own. At first I thought it was the babies but the longer I listened the slower it got.  The HR popped up at around 120 and  then would go down to 80 or so.  Kind of dissapointing.  I haven't had an issue with it cutting off though.  Thats weird.

I can't find my LOs with it either. Mine starts at 125 no matter where I put it then slowly decreases to 90. Mine has never shutoff though. That is weird. Are the batteries brand new?

 Yeah, they were supposedly new.  They had been in a drawer for a while, but unused.  I'm going to buy some new ones today and see if that helps.
