I didn't really think it could happen this late, especially because at my 36 week appt, she was at -1 station. But a few nights ago, she was really flipping around, and I was feeling really uncomfortable. My belly just felt different. It hurt to lay on either side because I felt like she was lying horizontally. I could feel two big hard bumps on each side of my belly, which felt like her butt and her head. It even looked different. Then, she got the hiccups, and instead of feeling the hiccup move my belly up and down, it was moving side to side. Does that make sense? Since then, everything has felt different, and I'm worried that now she's transverse. I know they say babies can flip around up until the last minute pretty much, but it makes me nervous that she might have moved into this position at 38 weeks. Anyone's LO lying transverse? How can you tell, and what does it mean? Probable c-section?
Re: Did my baby go from head down to transverse?
Yes! My baby was flipper from 30 weeks through child birth I saw the doc every week because I was High risk I had an U/S every 2 weeks and the doc would schedule me for a c-sec because he was transverse or breech. My water broke just before my 37th week and when I went in he was head down and I labored for 10hours and when I was 10cm the doc checked and said he felt feet an U/S confirmed that he was transverse they tried moving him and his H/R dropped very low and they rushed me for an emergency c-sec. he was in a bad position they had to cut my uterus in a "T" and it took 2 doctors to pull him out. I now have to have this baby on Wed. because I risk bursting my uterus because of the extra vertical cut they made.
I hope that doesn't happen for you.
Hopefully she's head down, Good luck!!!
