My boss bought me a ticket to go to Mongolia to assist with some field work over there in August. She asked before she got the ticket if there was ANY reason why I might not be able to go because she can't have drop outs. After the ticket was purchased, I got my BFP. Some of you may remember my post about it a few weeks ago. I've decided that I can't go because it's too risky (thanks for all your wonderful advice on the matter), and now I have to tell her. I'm worried sick about disappointing her because she's been so good to me in the past.
Well... here I go. Thanks for your good thoughts and well wishes!
Re: Off to tell the boss... and break a commitment.
it's too bad you can't go- Mongolia is freaking AMAZING!
good luck!

It's a GIRL!
How is it too risky? I thought they didn't want pregnant women to fly early on because if they miscarry while traveling abroad they will feel bad...My doctors have always told me it was safe. Is there something I don't know? I don't want to keep traveling if there is a risk...
Maybe it's risky because it's Mongolia. I didn't catch the original post though.

We'll I guess that makes more sense! I guess I don't know much about Mongolia.
I hope it goes well!
It's not risky normally, but what I will be doing is risky. We're field geologists and will be camping in the desert in very remote locations will poor access to health care and proper food/water. I also found out that I'm a non-responder to the rubella vaccine so I have no immunity and my chances of encountering the virus over there are much greater than in Canada. Don't worry if you're simply going for a vacation!
