**Rachel & Joe**

Hi - I saw below that you are transitioning your DD to the crib in her room.  How is it going?  What are you doing to ease the transition?  We went cold turkey last night, he fell asleep in the living room and we put him in the crib (where he does nap occasionally).  This morning he woke up  and was crying a lot - usually he is all smiles in the am.  I think he was upset he couldn't see us.  He's 9 mos (actual) 6.5 (adjusted).

I'm just glad to see we arent' the only ones with our LO still sleeping in our room! Some of our friends/family have been making comments about it lately which is totally annoying.

  • it went well last night.  she took a 2 hour nap in her crib yesterday morning & woke up ok.  i just make sure to get to her asap because i don't want her laying in the crib crying alot & associating it with being upset.  last night she didn't want to go back to sleep after her 3am bottle so i brought her into my bed for her to calm down & then moved her back into the crib & she actually smiled & giggled at me while drifting back to sleep.  this morning she slept to her normal time & woke up pretty happy.  i am hoping this trend continues!  this morning she took a 2 hour nap in her crib & she seemed really comfy & happy.  One thing that I think is helping the transition is I let her have a blanket in her crib & I think it helps her feel warm & cozy & secure (& i know she can pull it off of her face if she needs to).  hang in there!
