Re: new 'all natural' butt paste??

  • are you talking about boudreux's "natural" butt paste?

I was wondering about it as well...I have coupons for it!

  • yup - i couldn't see ingredients on the site i was on and am feeling lazy but one reviewer commented that it was paraben free and she used it with her cloth (though i could see from the product image that it's a zinc oxide diaper cream which i thought was what the issue was with cloth?)

ETA: linky to the product i'm talking about

  • Yeah I had a hard time finding the ingredients online too.

I think the bigger problem with cloth and butt cream is cod liver oil. I think you can use products with zinc oxide as long as you use a liner. I use Aveeno diaper rash cream and it has zinc oxide in it. We use fleece liners and haven't had any problems.

I would only use it with a liner.  I would be more likely to choose a CD friendly cream :)

    I found this:

    active ingredient:
    zinc oxide 16%

    inactive ingredients:
    aloe vera
    beeswax
    carnauba wax
    castor oil
    citric acid
    hydrogenated castor oil
    peruvian balsam oil

also, these from people who have used it

"I have some and just used it with fleece liners because I wasn't sure. It still stayed in the liner after washing (although not as much as the regular). I would be super leery of using it without liners."

    "Zinc oxide stains & repels"

"I have it and it does not completely wash out of the fleece liners that I have.

It is white in color, so doesn't "stain", but I had some seep throught the liner on one diaper and I need to scrub it to get it out. Luckily it is only a little "line" of it.

It is a bit more "runny" that the regular Butt paste. I like it ok, but I wouldn't use it without a liner."

  • I am relatively sure CA Baby has zinc oxide in it and it is CD safe.

thanks!  this is def helpful - so probably if you have a rash that the cd safe creams aren't cutting it's better than using their reg stuff, but otherwise not the best/safest cd option out there.
