those who bottle feed

I wondered what kind of bottles you used. When I worked in a daycare in college, I really like the playtex drop in system because those babies had almost no gas issues.  Now that we are trying to be EF, I am not sure.  I know the inserts are recyclable, but are there any glass bottles with a good venting system?  I have had experience with Dr. Browns (with one baby) and he was SUPER gassy/crabby after bottles, but it may have been just the way he was.  Any suggestions for me to look into?

  • I breastfeed and supplement with formula. We use the Dr Browns bottles, and we use the Born Free bottles. He is a gassy baby, but I dont think the bottles are to blame for that. He is just gassy.

mine's not on the bottle anymore but we were like the PP, used Dr. browns and just had a gassy kid when he was really small.  it got better with age.

We use Dr. Brown's and the playtex ventair, but our kids have really bad reflux, and those seems to be the ones that work th best for them. The clean up for Dr Brown is a pita though.

  • We really liked the Playtex Ventaire that we used w/DD.  I used Dr. Brown's w/DS.  He was super gassy with terrible reflux.  We didn't use any other kind of bottle with him so I don't know if it was any better w/Dr. B's.  I tried Born Free and Avent with DD also but they leaked like crazy.
