Canning question...

I have a place to pick peaches right down the road-can I boil them and purree them like I did for DS's baby food and then can them in pint jars to use when DD needs to start solids (in about 8 months)?

 Stupid question, I'm sure. I've never canned, but I'm thinking of doing apple sauce, and babyfood peaches-

Not stoopid.

Ball makes a size 4oz canning jar that would be perfect for babyfood.  You can find them at hardware stores and online, usually.
