For my IVF, I used Progesterone in Cottonseed Oil. I didn't have any problems with it, minor pain, but no irritation or major issues/lumps. BUT, I only used it for 2 weeks since it was a BFN.
I had heard that Progesterone in Ethyl Oleate is a little easier to use and causes fewer reactions/injection site pain. I couldn't use it at the time b/c I was in the study and it wasn't one of the available choices.
I can use either now.
Would you stick with what worked ok for me (but might not if I have to use it longer), or would you go with what's supposed to be "easiest?"
Re: PIO oil type question
From what I understand Progesterone in Ethyl Oleate is a lot thinner than everything else, which makes it easier to inject.
I didn't mind the Progesterone in Ethyl Oleate (it's all I've ever used) and I was on it for 11 weeks.
I avoided that one b/c I have a lot of allergies to weird things and a lot of the allergic reactions they see to PIO is to the sesame oil.
You and I might have been in the same study - I used progesterone in cottonseed oil for my study and it was easier than progesterone in sesame seed oil (which I had an allergic reaction to after 10 days).
you should ask if they are both thick - that is the problem. If they both require 22 gauge needles, then I think it's pretty equal
