Frustrated, what would you do?

I went to the dr. yesterday because I've had an awful sore throat and a fever.  They did a strep test and it came back negative.  She said my lymph nodes were swollen and my throat looked red, but didn't want to prescribe me anything.  She said to gargle with salt water and wait it out.  She said to call if it got worse.  Well, I woke up this morning and I had tears in my eyes from swallowing water.  I'm 10 weeks along and I'm hungry, but it hurts to eat.  Should I call back and ask the doctor to give me something?  I just don't want to seem like I'm being a baby about it.

I got sick just before 9 weeks - doc said to use Cepacol.  It definitely helped with the sore throat.

Using salt water usually always works for me.
