I never wore K as a newborn, so this is new to me. I think he's safe like this, but I wanted to consult the experts, lol. (this is a mother's milk sling, pretty much the same as a hotsling). Thoughts? Tips? TIA!
I'm not a huge fan of pocket slings for the newborn stage unless nursing- it's just too hard to walk around and do things w/out their little necks slipping down and touching their chest. Ring slings, wraps and mei tais are better, b/c you can do a tummy to tummy upright carry.

So you think I should wait unitl he has better head control? We have a moby too..it's just hot here, lol. What hold would you do in the moby?

With the Moby you should do a tummy to tummy or 'hug' hold I think is what it's called. GL!

Check out the moby website, they show what are good holds for an infant. I had a hotsling when ds was a baby and everytime I did the newborn hold I wasnt comfortable with it. Also, it looks like the sling is a bit too big for you, he shouldnt hang so low. Try pulling the top rail down over your shoulder to sort of 'cap' your shoulder. It should tighten it. GL
Also, check out videos on youtube for ideas on how to use slings/moby's ect.

Yeah, I'd save it to use down the line for hip carries. Most babies, once they get good enough head control to be in that cradle hold, fight to get out of it anyway.
Ditto the other posters about the Moby hug hold being the way to go. This video is one of my favorites to show a step by step, fairly fool proof way of wrapping. And if the Moby is too hot, but you like wrapping, I'd look into investing into a lightweight woven wrap, such as a BBSlen or Vatanai, or even a Bali Baby Stretch or Breeze (which aren't true wovens, but are still lightweight and comfortable).
Hmm...I think you pouch is probably too big for you as he should be higher on your body. This site - https://zolowear.com/Wearing.aspx#1 - has some helpful videos and tips for pouches.
I can't tell for sure but he looks a bit curled in there - I wouldn't be comfortable like that. You don't look like you are comfortable with him in there either as you are holding the bottom of the sling ;-)
You can do an upright tummy to tummy in a pouch - but if this one is a bit big, it may be hard to get secure. You can try flipping the shoulder over.
If the moby is too warm for you, you might try a cotton gauze or lightweight woven wrap. A ring sling would be another great option - sleepingbaby.net has very affordable and comfortable ones.
I used a Kangaroo Korner sling when my DD was an infant. I was never comfortable when she was in it like your LO, I always worried about her head and neck. I only wore her tummy to tummy, and I loved it.

I think the pouch is much too big for you. You want the bottom of the pouch at or slightly above hip height.
If you get a correctly fitted pouch, you can do a tummy to tummy carry in it, it's not just limited to wraps and ring slings.
But you might prefer a ring sling since it's easier to get a good fit as they grow and get bigger, rather than getting a pouch sling every growth spurt.
I loved the moby for the itty bitty stage. I didn't feel like the babe fit well in the hotslings.
I agree with pp that it looks a bit big (low) on you too. Definitely try flipping the shoulder over. Have you tried washing it? I had to shrink my hotslings by washing and drying it.
For the moby, I would tie it on and then do the newborn hug hold (I think it's called). I could tie it on in the house, then pop him in once we arrived.
