Allergy Meds....?!!

Hi all-

I am newly pregnant and I am having horrible allergies due to allergy season right now. Gotta love allergies- ha!  What allergy meds are safe to take in your first trimester? I am 3.5 weeks pregnant...

My doctor told me Claritin (regular, not D--the generic is loratidine) or Benadryl were OK.

Zyrtec and Claritin are perfectly safe (or their generic counterparts) and can provide a lot of relief when taken every 24 hours. I take my Claritin (generic) every night with my PNV before bed. I have year-round, very bad allergies and without the meds, I get severe sinus infections. Anyway, as always - check with your Doc first, but HTH!!

First my dr recommended Benedryl (I was 9 weeks)... but at my 13 & 17 week appts when I told him it wasn't helping at all... he OK'd Zyrtec & Claratin D

Doc says it is ok to use allegra...... not d...  i also use a NEIL MED...  Like a neti pot but your eyeballs don't feel like they are swimming away.
