1st Trimester

? about EDD

OK, I am confused. Is the EDD the first day of your LMP, or the day you KNOW you conceived (due to charting and bloodwork).  I just thought they just made it the first day of your LMP to be safe. Or will my trusty little chart be the way they tell? TIA for your advise!!

It probably depends on your doc's office, but doesn't matter too much because they'll adjust based on how you measure as time passes.

cdobry is right, it depends.  If you know you ovulated much later than day 14 of your cycle, I would let my doctor know that.  It can save you from worry if an u/s shows that your LO is behind schedule.

  • A lot of docs tell you not to really go off of an EDD but more a due week. Babies rarely come on that day and after 38 weeks they always say "well you could go anytime now".

ok! Thanks for the advice! I was just wondering. I kinda want a cool ticker, but don't know what to put. Of course, that wouldn't be until I see the Dr. again on the 24th to see if my Progesterone level is any better, since right now we are trying to be "hopeful" that this little one sticks. After 2 m/c's, I can't help but be "cautiously optimistic".  :(
