What are some mainstream, modern day technologies/gadgets that you don't have? (Example: DVR, GPS, Internet on your phone..) Why don't you have these nifty toys?
We don't have a Blu Ray player. We hardly ever watch movies and it just isn't something we've ever been interested in purchasing.
We also don't have a Wii--or any game consoles actually. We are hardly ever home so they wouldn't get much use and both DH and I are extremely competitive so it probably would just land us in couples therapy
I don't have them (though I really want DVR!) because we have better things to spend our money on (like internet on my phone, hahaha).

We don't have Blu-Ray and only 7.1 surround sound. Hubby says we could have 2 more speakers. We would like to get speakers for outside.
DH is getting an iPad (it shipped today).
I am a bit behind on TV-type technology, so I don't even know what you mean by saying that you have 7.1 surround sound. Admitting that makes me feel old!

Dh is a tech freak so....we have it all. Finalized our collection a 1.5 weeks ago with a purchase of an ipad. I was anti-ipad for awhile, since we both have itouch's....but dh talked me into it and I love it now, lol.

We don't have a DVR (actually we've only had cable tv for less than a year). I don't have internet on my phone either. Reasons why we don't have these things: money.
TTC with unexplained IF since 8/2007
6 losses, one beautiful perfect boy in our arms
We don't have a TV, cable, or DVR....but we just watch a couple shows through sites like Hulu. We do this because it's cheaper and we don't watch much TV anyway. We watch DVDs on our computer.
I just got an iPhone a couple months ago, otherwise I would not have had much of anything. But now I have internet on my phone and there's a GPS type thing on it. The iPhone is really fancy and high tech
We are adopting! Currently waiting for our domestic infant adoption match.
No DVR. Just haven't had an overwhelming reason to get one, since I'm more than satisfied with whatever is on the History Channel or watching multiple Law and Order or Ghost Whisperer re-runs.
Married 08.06 Started TTC 05.08 Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH DH: perfect 1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p 2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
I don't have a GPS although DH does keep one in his company car for work... but we take it when we go on trips. We just got iPods last year too. We have never had internet on our phones, but plan to get iPhones when our current contract expires. Hoping that Verizon gets the iPhone before that happens so we don't have to go to AT&T. We don't have a Blu-Ray player or a new TV either... we have an old super-huge, bulky, stand-alone projection TV... can't wait for it to break (in a few years, hopefully) so we can get a thinner one. ETA: We don't have these because of how much they cost.

I don't have a BluRay player. It makes me cry inside to look at our unhealthy DVD collection and think that one day that could be phased out. So, I have avoided at all costs to even start transferring things over.
No internet on my phone either. I'm kind of "phone-stupid". I actually told the guy at AT&T that I didn't need a camera on my phone and he looked at me like I had 3 eyeballs. "Um, ma'am they all have cameras now". So, I have a phone that calls, answers.......and takes a pretty good photo, haha. Other than that, it's bare bones.
My phone is barely a camera phone. I keep waiting for Verizon to get the iPhone but now i heard that they're only getting the 3G so I may have to switch to AT&T.
We also have no video game consoles (like a Wii or a playstation). Other than that I think we're have everything else within reason.
We don't have an iPod, Blue Ray player, Wii or any game console, internet on phone.
I couldn't live without my DVR, but that is about all we have. My coworkers tease me all the time saying they don't know how I ended up in the IT dept since I am so non technical in every other part of my life. And I refuse to text anything more than Y, N and K. My running excuse on most things is that they bother the RA in my hands that is why no texting, no game systems, internet on phone, etc.
TTC since 8/2004

DH - DX Azoospermia - Sertoli Cell Syndrome

I'n not a tech person at all so my response is kind of funny (to me)....we have most everything I can think of (or at least that's been named in pp which I guess are more of the mainstream things). I have a blackberry (work) and an iphone (personal). We don't have an ipad but I have a kindle (it;s a functional thing for me (I read a lot), not a gadget thing).

We are getting new phones next weekend, so this will no longer be true soon, but I don't have internet on my phone
As for why, I just didn't care to have it until recently.
I don't have a GPS.
I'm a dork and just use MapQuest on my IPhone.
i'm outnumbered by you techno-geeks ! LOL
we dont' have any of these gadgets...WHY?
my life story: time and money.
No time to figure them out and better things to spend $ on - or necessary things like cyro!
We don't have Blu-Ray and only 7.1 surround sound. Hubby says we could have 2 more speakers. We would like to get speakers for outside.

I would be from mine, but I have to do "work" stuff, so I'm using an actual laptop. Glad to see there is another early adopter on here.

These are all the things I don't have that I really, really want!!!
I don't have DVR (DH's choice, not mine).
I have 3 DVD players that are all in a box in the basement (again, DH's choice, not mine.)
I don't have satellite radio (and I feel like I'm the only person without it!)
My blog: Making Me Mom
Blu-Ray Player: Because my DVD player works fine and I don't feel like spending money on something I don't need.
iPad: Because I have a fantastic MacBook and an iPhone. I just don't have the need for one.
I have it all too!
We don't have cable TV. Or satellite. Or DVR. Or Netflix. Just regular old network TV.
I don't do voicemail. At all.
We don't have a GPS.
I don't have an Ipod. I *guess* my Droid phone probably has an mp3 player associated with it but I've never used it.
I don't have GPS. I don't know why we don't get one. DH's mapquest printouts are an embarrassment.
ETA: We don't have DVR either. If I don't watch it when it is on then it's really not that important.
Started TTC 05.08

After two losses, third time was a charm.
