We were planning on taking a vacation (4-5 days max) over our anniversary to NOLA, but decided since I will be 5 months pregnant that NOLA in August might not be the best idea

We can't seem to come up with somewhere else we both agree on though. We don't want to travel too far (we live in PA) because we don't want to lose a lot of our time to traveling. We are going to the beach already with my parents for a week, so we are looking for something other than the beach. Any suggestions?

Re: Babymoon?
My husband and I are going to an all inclusive resort in Mexico in August when I'm about 23 weeks. (Doctor approved.)
She did say to make sure with cruises, some cruise lines don't want you to be over X amount of weeks. I think something like 25 weeks or so.
Enjoy it! Hope you all get wonderful Babymoons!
When I was pregnant with my son we went to San Antonio (a 7 hour drive from where we live) in July when I was 8.5 months pregnant and it wasn't too bad.
At 5 months I would think you'd be a little more comfortable, but you might consider flying instead of driving just so that you can flex your legs easy. The big worry about long trips is blood clots forming.
Baltimore is one of my favorite cities, and if you timed it right I'm sure the northeast would be lovely for the fall.
Whatever you decide I'm sure that you'll have a wonderful trip. Our trip to San Antonio is one of my very favorite memories of just me and DH.
What about Montreal? DH and I spent our honeymoon there in August and the weather was beautiful. We stayed in the suite that featured on the homepage. It has a hot tub in the room (though that won't do you much good), and the room is very large. The breakfasts are wonderful...we are still talking about those breakfasts almost 6 years later! The website is https://www.bonsmatins.com/index_eng.html. We've also heard that Quebec City (just north of Montreal) is also great.
I also like Niagra-on-the-Lake. It's about 45 minutes outide of Niagra Falls. It's very quaint and it's right on Lake Ontario. I didn't stay in any of the B&Bs, but there are plenty of cute ones, and I hear the Prince of Wales hotel is gorgeous (if pricy).
My last suggestion is the Finger Lakes in western NY. I have family in that area, and my parents live on Keuka Lake, which I believe to be the prettiest of the five lakes. While you can't fully enjoy the wineries that surround the lake, there is still plenty to explore. Seneca Lake, east of Keuka, is one of the more poular and there a number of nice hotels. In Watkins Glen (the southern tip of the lake) is the Harbor Hotel which was recently renovated, and the gorge in the state park is great to walk through. If you go in early August, make sure to check...NASCAR runs either the first or 2nd week and traffic is hell and you won't be able to get a room. At the northern tip, is the Hampton Inn, in Geneva, which I hear is also very nice. Waterloo Outlets, for shopping, are maybe 30 minutes away. On the western side of the lake, just south of Geneva, is Belhurst Castle Resort. Corning is about 30 minutes to and hour away (depending on where you stay), and has a glass museum and a quaint downtown.
Whatever you decide on, I wish you a wonderful and relaxing time!
What about DC or NYC? Or even upstate NY or Maine. There are plenty of things to do in any of these places and it also would be more economical than flying so far away.
