i've never had an actual late period since i started my period at age 12 (besides my two pregnancies obviously!). now, i'm two days late but i took two early detection pregnancy tests and they came back negative. has anyone ever gotten a false negative after a missed period? if i'm not pregnant does anyone know why i could be late (and feeling so crappy)? thanks!

Re: false negative?
You might have ovulated later than usual, so your period might not actually be late. Unless you were charting, there's no way to know. I'd recommend checking out fertilityfriend.com and Taking Charge of Your Fertility. They will explain a lot about how your period might be "late" without actually being late.
Keep testing once a week until AF shows up or you get a BFP. If you hit 60 days with no AF, call your doctor. Good luck!

All of this.
This is mostly true, however, if you did ovulate later, it may be really early, so it might depend on what brand of HPT you are using and if you are using FMU. For example the digitals are less sensitive. I had 3 positive FRER over the weekend even without FMU, but the digitals were negative. And at that point I was 1 and 2 days late for my period.
So if you haven't already try a first response and be sure to use your first pee of the morning!
