We started the Zantac in hopes that she'd eat more, but sister friend cannot stay AWAKE. She passed out 1.5 oz into her bottle just now . . . and she's only eaten about 12 ounces today.
Not in my case. FYI after filling my prescription for the third time I had a different pharmacist tell me to give it to DD when her tummy was empty or about a half an hour before a feeding....don't know if you got this info but wanted to pass it along.
He said that it's best to give it to her half an hour to an hour before her bottle, but he said that it tastes awful so if I need to immediately follow up with a bottle so she doesn't freak out, that's ok. She doesn't seem to mind the taste, so I'm just giving it to her 30 min or so before her bottle.
We just weaned J off of Zantac. He had been taking it since he was 2 months old. I never noticed it made him sleepy and he loved the taste of it. He would get excited when I pulled the dropper out lol

I think it makes my LO a little drowsy (but not making her pass out, but helping with naps). I give .9 to her 3x a day, whenever she wakes and try to space it out throughout the day with no regard to feeding. She was 15 lbs, 8 ounces for the last dose change.) We were never given directions on when to give it to her, but I have heard read on here to give it like you are.
