I've had hypothyroidism for about 15 or so years now. I found out with my last M/C that I have thyroid antibodies. Pretty much means I have twice as much chance as a m/c and can't do anything about it. But, I've never been to an endocrinologist, and I think it might help me a little bit. Anyone of this same issue. What type of doctor do you see? (I see an internal doctor now). What have they told you about the link between it and m/cs?
Re: any one with thyroid antibodies?
I do but my thyroid is kicking the antibodies arse (my thyroid levels are normal so it's not affecting me right now).
I also have Homo MTHFR and a lupus anticoagulant both of which cause clotting so the three combined increase my chance of miscarriage.
Like I said, right now I'm not taking any type of thyroid medication because my thyroid levels are normal (I will have this checked at my annual). For MTHFR and lupus anticoagulant I take a daily baby aspirin. I also will start lovenox injections once I'm pregnant again.
Are you taking thyroid medication? I would go see an endocrinologist because I know of several people who have thyroid issues that they take meds for and had no issues with pregnancy.
