If you have a "go to" meal you make to bring to a friend who just had a baby, or someone sick who needs help - what is it?
One of DSs preschool classmates has an older brother (8) who was just diagnosed with an inoperable, cancerous brain tumor. The mom is going to be spending a lot of time with him as he undergoes 20 weeks of chemo. So the parents in DS's preschool class are organizing a dinner drop-off to try and help the family a little.
I'm glad to be able to help out in a small way for the family. But I'm not a good cook. I need some dinner suggestions. What would you make? As far as I know, there are no dietary restrictions.
Re: What meal to make to bring to family w/sick child?
Agreed with the casseroles. Maybe do a breakfast casserole to change it up and give them a choice. I have a really easy and good egg casserole recipe if you are interested. Its a hit at our house!
And I'm so sorry for that boys family....
I would probably do a gift card for a pizza place, or chinese. That way they don't have even more food in the freezer, and they can use it whenever they want to. I'd have wanted pizza at 8 over lasagne LOL
We had a freezer and neighbor's freezer full of food given to us when my dad died - enough people will do that, so that's why I'm thinking pizza or chinese would be a nice change.
