Had my 12w exam today - largely unpleasant and uneventful...except that we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! We got a snippet at the 8w u/s but to hear it at 12 weeks was such an incredible relief. I was so nervous bc I kept replaying that scene from Marley & Me where they find out she mc...I almost cried when the doc was able to pick up a strong little pack of galloping horsies

 

And DH and I were FINALLY able to come out on Facebook. WHEW! No more worrying about stupid (but, well-meaning) family and friends spoiling our chance to announce our first Little One

 

Just had to cheese...

I said "MrsJones is very excited to formally announce to her FB minions that Baby Jones is healthy and growing and slated for a November 21st arrival So far this whole pregnancy thing has been a piece of cake. Just don't go too heavy on the perfume, because I will throw up on you. Oh, and don't leave any yummy snacks unattended...and if I fall asleep mid-sentence, let me nap"
